Coral Bleaching

Due to rise in sea water temperature, the phenomenon of Coral Bleaching occurs where corals turn white because the symbiotic algae leave the corals' tissues. Corals are Polypoid organisms from the Phylum Coelenterata . These are diploblastic creatures, i.e. they are made up of only two germ layers, namely outer ectoderm and inner endoderm. Oysters

Oysters are interesting organisms because they can make pearls with a speck of dust/ glass/ sand by secreting layers of aragonite over it. They belong to a Class of Phylum Mollusca named Bivalvia. Belemnites

These beauties are dead and fossilized cephalopods named Belemnites. Yes, they were related to squids (external skeleton) and octopuses (without skeleton), except they had an internal skeleton.
